Let's talk about the "everything shower", the new self-care staple in everyone's routine. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a sucker for trying every TikTok trend I come across. Some of them stick, many don't. The everything shower stuck, and it's now my go-to wellness ritual. If you've never heard of it before, let me be the one to introduce you to this delicious self-care practice. An everything shower is exactly what it sounds like, it's a deep-cleansing ritual where you take your time doing everything you're too busy to do on an everyday basis. This includes dry brushing, hair masks, body scrubs; anything you can think of to feel pampered. If you're feeling intimidated right now, let me be your guide to the best self-care practices you can include in your personal everything shower routine.
Soothe yourself with a scalp massage
To paraphrase Julie Andrews: let's start at the top, a very good place to start. Not only because hair is sacred to most of us, but also because starting with a scalp massage means that you can allow your favourite oils to marinate and do their thing while you go about the rest of your routine.
I will never understand how anyone gets through an entire week without at least one head massage. It's not only the best way to promote hair growth, but it also stimulates the vagus nerve which induces relaxation in the entire body. Besides, it's so easy to do!
Simply take your favourite scalp oil (mine is the Apivita Nature's Hair Miracle because it contains rosemary essential oil to stimulate hair growth) place your fingertips at your temples and apply pressure at intermittent points going to the back of your scalp. There are lots of youtube tutorials out there which can help you, but don't overthink it! Just do what feels right for you.
Gua Sha your troubles away

While you allow your hair oil to work its magic on your scalp, take the massage down to your face and neck. If you struggle with PCOS or other hormonal issues, you might be familiar with moon face. Moon face is when you experience puffiness and swelling, especially around the sides of your face. If this makes you feel uncomfortable or insecure, it's time to introduce Gua Sha into your routine!
First, you'll need your Gua Sha tool. I got mine online, but you can find one at your local crystal shop. If you don't have one, you can also use your fingers! Then I take a cleansing oil, I use ISDIN Essential Cleansing oil because it washes away easily without leaving any residue.
Second, I would recommend following a routine if you're a beginner. Here is my favourite one for reducing swelling and puffiness, but you can find many others on Youtube or TikTok: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQGdYOjuYMI
Polish your way to perfection
While I'm a firm believer in the healing powers of the dry brush (you can read more about it in my Let's Talk: Cellulite post), when I'm having an everything shower I prefer to use something with a slightly more luxurious feel.
I'm a big fan of using body scrubs which have other skin benefits aside from exfoliation. This is why I always reach for my favourite Apivita Royal Honey Body Scrub. It contains Greek sea salts from Messolonghi and salts from the Dead Sea to deeply exfoliate, while it nourishes with thyme honey, cocoa butter, almond oil and olive oil. To get the most out of these incredible ingredients, I make sure to give my body a soothing massage while I work the product over my skin.
After you've exfoliated is a great time to shave if that's something you feel like doing!
Show Your Hair Some Extra Care

Ok, so I know we already took care of the scalp, but like I said: hair is sacred. And you can never go wrong with a hair mask to treat the ends of your beautiful locks! While you exfoliate or shave, allow a hair mask to sit in your hair for a few minutes.
You can use your usual conditioner and allow it to sit longer, or use a dedicated hair mask like the Apivita Moisturising Hair Mask, which contains hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate the hair.
Unmask Radiant Skin
The final step to seal in your new glow is a moisturising face mask. It's also the most fun step if you ask me. Now is the time when you get to lie back and allow the product to do all the work.
If you're looking for a budget option you can never go wrong with applying raw honey onto your face. Honey contains natural AHAs and moisturising properties which will give you a great glow. But, if you're like me and hate getting messy, I would recommend a natural option from Apivita's Express Beauty range.
My favourite is the Apivita Express Beauty Sea Lavender Mask, which contains sea lavender and propolis to replenish moisture and strengthen the skin.
I guarantee that you'll feel like your most radiant self after this routine. Don't forget to share your own personal everything shower tips in the comments below!
